Avelo Airlines Sets Start Date for Flights to DBQ
Avelo Airlines announced today it will officially begin flying at Dubuque Regional Airport (DBQ) on March 22.
Free bus service will be provided March 22, 25 and 29 to Customers who need to return to their origination point at Cedar Rapids’ Eastern Iowa Airport (CID).
Avelo will operate twice weekly nonstop service between DBQ and Orlando’s most convenient airport – Orlando International Airport (MCO) – on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
As previously reported, DBQ was unable to secure the necessary Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approval of its airport security plan in time for Avelo Airlines' debut on January 11. Dubuque Regional Airport Chair Mike Phillips said, “We are so excited to welcome Avelo Airlines to Dubuque and the tri-state area starting on March 22. Honor Flight of Dubuque and the Tri-States
Honor Flight of Dubuque and the Tri-States Honor Flight of Dubuque and the Tri-States is a non-profit organization created solely to honor veterans living in Northeast Iowa, Southwest Wisconsin, and Northwest Illinois for all their sacrifices. We transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect on their memorials. Of all of the wars in recent memory, it was World War II that truly threatened our very existence as a nation and as a culturally diverse, free society. Now, with so many World War II, Korean, and Vietnam veterans dying each day, our time to express our thanks to these brave men and women is running out.
